Boopit — Privacy Policy (Waitlist / Pre-Launch)
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Scope: This Policy covers only the pre-launch waitlist at boopit.in. It does not govern future marketplace bookings, payments, Vendor onboarding, or pet-service transactions. If Boopit launches as a live marketplace, this Policy will be replaced or supplemented by a fuller privacy notice applicable to those services.
1. About This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ivamis Group, a sole proprietorship operating the Boopit website at boopit.in("Boopit", "we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information in connection with the pre-launch waitlist.
Boopit is currently in a pre-launch demand-validation phase. We do not currently provide pet services, process pet-service bookings, accept pet-service payments, or operate a live marketplace. The waitlist is used to understand potential customer demand and, where you have joined the waitlist, to notify you about a possible future launch.
This Policy is intended to operate consistently with applicable Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and applicable rules, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 to the extent and from the dates applicable to the processing concerned. The Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025 have been notified with phased commencement; certain provisions, including consent-manager registration and further compliance obligations, come into effect on later dates specified by the Rules. The Data Protection Board of India has been constituted; this Policy will be updated as further provisions take effect. References to the Board or to statutory rights in this Policy reflect the position as of the date above and should not be read as a representation about provisions not yet in force.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you choose to provide through the waitlist
- Email address and/or phone number — at least one contact channel is required so that we can contact you about the potential launch;
- Name — optional;
- Locality or area — optional unless the form specifically states otherwise;
- Pet-service preferences, such as grooming, boarding or daycare — optional unless the form specifically states otherwise;
- When you are likely to use Boopit — optional;
- Approximate amount you would typically spend on the relevant service — optional.
2.2 Information collected automatically
Depending on your cookie/analytics choices and the technical configuration of the Website, we may collect limited technical information such as browser and device information, pages viewed, referring/campaign source and approximate usage information.
We do not request payment information through the waitlist.
3. Why We Collect This Information
We use waitlist information for the following purposes:
- to maintain and manage the Boopit waitlist;
- to notify you about a potential Boopit launch and relevant early-access information;
- to understand demand for different pet services, locations, preferences and intended timing;
- to conduct market and product research and improve the proposed service;
- to evaluate the effectiveness of our website, campaigns and waitlist; and
- to protect the Website and prevent misuse, fraud or security incidents.
We will not use waitlist information to process pet-service bookings because Boopit is not currently offering bookings. If we intend to use your information for a materially different purpose, we will provide the information and obtain any consent required by applicable law before doing so.
4. Waitlist Consent
The core waitlist consent is presented as a separate, visible, unticked checkbox near the form submission control. The wording is intended to identify the core purposes for which the information is collected and used.
The core consent should read substantially as follows:
“I agree to Boopit collecting and using my information to notify me about a potential launch and to understand demand for the service, as described in the Privacy Notice.”
We do not use a pre-ticked checkbox. Optional marketing communications, such as pet-care tips, promotional offers or partner content, are not bundled into the core waitlist consent and require a separate, optional, unticked opt-in.
You may withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing at any time, by clicking "Leave the waitlist" in any waitlist communication we send you, or by emailing contact@boopit.in. Leaving the waitlist takes effect immediately, requires no more effort than joining did, and does not require you to provide a reason. We will stop processing based on that consent within the time required by applicable law, subject to any processing that may lawfully continue without consent.
5. Communications
If you join the waitlist, we may contact you about the potential launch, availability in your area, services you expressed interest in, and related waitlist or early-access information consistent with the purpose for which you joined.
We will not treat the core waitlist consent as consent to receive unrelated promotional marketing. If we wish to send optional marketing communications beyond the core waitlist purpose, we will use a separate opt-in where required or appropriate and provide an easy unsubscribe mechanism.
6. Analytics, Cookies and Similar Technologies
Optional analytics: We use analytics to understand how the Boopit Website is performing, where visitors come from, how visitors use the Website and how effectively the waitlist converts interest into sign-ups. Our only analytics service is Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
GA4 is treated as an optional analytics category for consent purposes. If you decline analytics, GA4 should not be loaded or used by the Website. If you accept analytics, it may operate in accordance with the configuration described below. Analytics consent is separate from the consent used to join the waitlist.
Google Analytics 4: GA4 may use cookies or similar technologies and may process information such as browser/device information, interaction information, referral/campaign information and approximate location information. Google states that, for users outside the EU, Switzerland and UK, Analytics may use IP addresses at collection time for purposes including spam detection, coarse geographic information and data-centre routing, and that raw IP addresses are discarded after use rather than logged or stored in Google Analytics.
We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers or other directly identifying waitlist form information to GA4. Our analytics events are designed to exclude such information, including from event parameters, user properties and user IDs. We also take reasonable steps to prevent personal information from being placed in URLs or other analytics-accessible fields.
GA4 is not used by us for personalised advertising, and we do not use it as an advertising or remarketing service.
Analytics consent: The Website presents an analytics consent banner with two choices: Accept or Decline. The choice is not pre-selected. Before a choice is made, optional analytics should not load. If you choose Decline, the Website should not load GA4. If you choose Accept, the Website may load GA4. Your analytics preference is stored locally in your browser so that the Website can remember your choice.
Analytics consent is separate from the waitlist consent checkbox. Joining the waitlist does not by itself constitute consent to optional analytics.
Changing your analytics choice: We provide a mechanism on the Website to manage or withdraw optional analytics consent. Withdrawal is intended to be as easy as giving consent. When analytics consent is withdrawn, the Website will stop loading optional analytics for subsequent activity and will remove or disable applicable analytics storage where technically supported.
First-party session attribution: Separately from optional analytics, the Website may temporarily use browser session storage to remember campaign/referral information such as source, referrer, UTM campaign information and landing path during a browser session. This is first-party session storage used to understand how visitors reach the Website; it is not a third-party advertising cookie and is cleared when the browser session ends.
Essential technologies:We may use technologies that are reasonably necessary for the Website’s basic operation, security, form functionality or other essential functions. These are distinct from optional analytics.
Analytics retention:GA4 may retain analytics information according to its service configuration and Google’s policies. We will configure retention periods appropriate to the limited validation purpose and review them periodically. The 24-month retention period described for our first-party waitlist database does not automatically determine retention by third-party analytics providers.
7. International / Cross-Border Processing
Some third-party service providers we use, including Google for analytics, may process information outside India. Where personal data is transferred outside India, we will do so subject to applicable Indian law, contractual arrangements and the restrictions, if any, applicable to the relevant transfer at the time of processing.
Section 16 of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 provides for the Central Government to restrict transfers of personal data to specified countries or territories, subject to the Act and other applicable Indian laws. The DPDP Act’s provisions have been brought into force in phases; this Policy does not represent that every provision of the Act is already operational as of the date above.
8. How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information with service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the validation-stage Website and waitlist, including categories such as:
- website hosting and infrastructure providers;
- waitlist, form, spreadsheet, database or cloud-storage providers used to receive and store submissions;
- email and communications providers used to send permitted waitlist communications;
- Google, for Google Analytics as described above;
- Vercel, for Website hosting and infrastructure where applicable; and
- professional advisers, where reasonably necessary.
We may also disclose information where required or permitted by applicable law, legal process or governmental authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights or property of Boopit, our users or others.
9. Data Retention
We intend to retain waitlist information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the validation purposes described in this Policy. Our current target is to retain waitlist information until the earliest of: (a) 24 months after you join the waitlist; (b) a decision to discontinue the validation exercise and delete the waitlist; (c) migration to a future live service where a fresh and appropriate privacy notice/consent is provided where required; or (d) your valid request for deletion or withdrawal of consent, subject to information that we are legally permitted or required to retain.
Analytics retention is separately controlled within the relevant analytics service and is not automatically governed by the 24-month waitlist retention period.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on the law applicable to the processing and its commencement, you may have rights and choices relating to your personal data, including requesting access to information about processing, correction of inaccurate information, deletion/erasure where applicable, withdrawal of consent where consent is the basis of processing, and grievance redressal.
Nomination. Where and to the extent this right is applicable to our processing under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may nominate another individual to exercise your rights under this Policy in the event of your death or incapacity, by writing to contact@boopit.in.
You can contact us at contact@boopit.in for privacy requests, waitlist removal, deletion requests or questions about our processing. We aim to acknowledge requests within 48 hours and will respond within ninety (90) days, in accordance with Rule 14(3) of the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025, or such other statutory timeline as applies to the specific request.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature and scale of the validation-stage Website, including HTTPS/TLS for data in transit and access controls, to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse. No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
We will address personal data incidents in accordance with applicable law and our internal incident-response procedures.
12. Children’s Information
The Boopit waitlist is intended for individuals aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly invite or intentionally collect waitlist information from children. If we become aware that personal data of a child has been collected in circumstances where applicable law requires parental or guardian consent, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law, which may include deletion.
13. Privacy Contact and Grievance Mechanism
Privacy / Grievance Contact: Eshika Agarwal
Designation: Proprietor, Ivamis Group (operating Boopit)
Email: grievance@boopit.in
We maintain this contact mechanism for questions and complaints about the processing of personal data. We do not state that a particular statutory grievance-officer requirement applies unless and to the extent that the relevant provision is applicable to our present legal structure and processing.
If you are not satisfied with our response to a grievance, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and applicable rules. We recommend raising your concern with us first so we have a fair opportunity to resolve it directly.
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy as Boopit develops, our data practices change, third-party services change, or applicable legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this Website with a revised "Last updated" date. If Boopit moves from demand validation to a live marketplace, this Policy will be replaced or supplemented by a fuller Privacy Policy addressing bookings, payments, Vendor information, service providers and other marketplace processing.
